4. Reflection

  • What have I learnt in this module?
    • Design principles and how to apply them in my artwork, I need to think outside the box and think of my original design, the importance of sketches, and more is not better.
  • What did I enjoy the most?
    • Making the artwork itself, I got to play with composition, color balance, contrast, and lightning in the artwork.
  • What did I not enjoy the most?
    • Making a lot of non-approved sketches and thinking of an original design.
  • What have I learnt about myself through this module?
    • I need to think outside the box and think of my original design. More is not better and more effort/hours does not make it more pleasing to the eyes. I also need to be diligent in making more sketches and paying attention to composition, contrast, and subject attention.
  • What has changed and what has not in my learning journey?
    • I could identify design principles in an artwork and when they harmonize or not. I probably still have a hard time making sketches and original designs.
  • What could be improved in this module?
    • Maybe more time during the making of the design, I was lucky that I made my sketches early and had more time to explore more sketches. The analysis part I think it's easy enough that it can be done in just 1 week instead of two and add that time to the design process.
