Week 11 - F2F Class Consultation (Dec 7, 2023)

This week is used for consultation for the Self titled final project.

SELF TITLED -30%
  • Self-titled is an exploration project for the students to express their own individuality and reflect their personality into digital art self-expression.
  • The main idea is to build up self-confidence and discover their interest.
On this project, we need to create :

1. Idea Development (WEEK 11) (5 marks) 
  • Biography about yourself
  • Statement about your work
  • Find a references then create moodboard (3 Poster)
2. Design Directions (WEEK 12) (5 marks) 
  • Create a sketches
  • Create a digital poster (1080 x 1920 px)
3. Execution and Post Productions (WEEK 13) (10 marks) 
  • Import the final poster to after effects
  • Develop the composition techniques using Digital Photography &; Graphic Design
4. Finishing (WEEK 14) (10 marks) 
  • Animate your composition in after effects
  • Attach the video progress
Video Requirements :
  • Duration: 15 seconds
  • Output:. MOV or .MP4 less than 20MB
  • Size: 1080 x 1920 px (I.G reel/ story size)
Timeframe: WEEK 9 - WEEK 14

PART 1: IDEA DEVELOPMENT (WEEK 11)

1. Write a biography about yourself

Hello! My name is Velicia from Indonesia. I'm 18 this year, and soon will be 19. I'm taking the design course Bachelor in Creative Media. I have 1 younger sister whom I have a love-hate relationship with.

I want to make stuff with my own hands, whether it be digital art, making games, pottery, miniature, crochet, painting, or stories, it needs to be done with my hands. I also like long walks (without carrying anything, without burden), I also like birds, BIRDS, they're free up there a whole sky to play around. Flowers and stars too, how they have their own language to leave secret messages and a universe compass as a guide to help people move around.

My motivation comes from stories and other people. I love reading stories, they gave me so much whiplash. I cheer for the characters, I cry for them, I love, hate, hope, weep, forgive, mad, and way more. They gave me hope, hope for other possibilities, where imagination runs wild, where love and kindness despite all odds prevail, and not this world's wars, lies, and unnecessary cruelness. And I have met people that prove that hope still exist and I want to be that hope to other people.

I want to visualize my passion in an artwork with a book to symbolize stories, with flowers, birds, stars, and many handmade stuff a lot of possibilities. Pretty straightforward.

2. Write a statement about your work

I don't have much going on for now, but I want to make a lot of stuff with my hands, to prove how much I'm capable of doing. I want to visualize my imagination.

The concept behind most of my artwork is to see how much I can do right there in that moment, just how many possibilities I can create with my hands, I hope it's a lot because I want to make a lot.

From my artwork I want people to be inspired and believe that their hopes and dreams are possible and actively trying to achieve them.

My motto is "Life keeps going, it won't stop for you, keep up." It means that whatever happens in life whether it's good or bad, it will pass and I will be alive for tomorrow. Just because I'm sad the earth is not going to stop spinning for me. So I don't let the past bother me too much and instead focus on possibilities for tomorrow, what I can do now to make the future me proud.

I did have to change the middle white circle to the bottom so the anchor is on the bottom, allowing me to change the shape up and down, while the bottom bar stays in place.
