LECTURE
Week 4 - F2F Class (Oct 19, 2023)
We were taught about the basics of Photoshop mainly Magic Wand and Pentool, as it needed to cur images from the background for the next task. We were given a task to make 3 digital collages in Photoshop from the materials given by the lecturer and have one of them approved by the lecturer. (Exercise 3)
INTRODUCTION TO PHOTOSHOP
1. Tool Box

2. Lasso Tool
The Lasso Tool is great for a graphic tablet because it is similar to a pencil.
Photoshop Basics: How to Use the Lasso Tool
Mastering The Lasso Tool
When you click on the Lasso Tool from the Toolbar, you will see Three different tool options:
1. Lasso: click on your canvas and start drawing a shape. Once you release the mouse button, Photoshop will close the selection between the start and endpoints.
2. Polygonal Lasso: Polygonal Lasso only draws straight lines between your points.
3. Magnetic Lasso: The Magnetic Lasso detects an object's edge and automatically snaps alongside it while you are moving near it.
3. Pen Tool
Remember, the fewer points, the smoother a path will be.

4. Layering
Layers are different images stacked on top of each other. You can Use each layer without affecting another one to make adjustments.

TUTORIAL & PRACTICAL
Digital Imaging (10%)
Students use Adobe Photoshop as a tool for doing digital imaging and composting different images into one final output.
You are required to capture screenshots to demonstrate a step-by-step progression as to how the visuals are produced (at least 10 steps) and compile it in a PORTFOLIO PDF. This should be modeled after a Photoshop/Illustrator tutorial (examples to be provided).
We are required to make 3 digital collages in Photoshop from the materials given by the lecturer. This is the attempt to make it. First I use the pen tool and selection tool to cut out the objects needed from the background or to cut out shapes from textures. Then copy and paste them into a new file and arrange them to make 3 compositions from those objects.

REFLECTION
1 Experience
This is the first time I used Photoshop, but Mr. Fauzi is patient enough to explain it to me many times. From how to remove the background of an abject (which is the only thing I know about what Photoshop can do). But it was pleasantly smooth and Mr Fauzi gave enough knowledge to make the collage I envisioned.
2 Observations
I need to pay attention and remember when Mr. Fauzi giving tutorials. Most of it was shortcut keys and not an icon we needed to press for certain tools. But I think it's good for us to know and for faster work time.
3 Findings
The shortcut keys are hard to remember, but eventually, I know it's going to be useful. I need to push myself to make an appealing collage with limited materials.
